Daily Journal July 5, 1999, By-William Thomas Thompson. This is a dead day but a restful holiday after the 4th of July and all the bangs of fireworks lighting the skies at night. We could see the mighty ones at Furman University on Saturday night decorating the skies from the rooftop here and last night in down town with loud booms. Some of the brightest fireworks I have ever seen were exploded with drapes of many colors high up in the sky. I went today to Dillard's orchard and bagged up ripe soft peaches in 7 bags and delivered them around to relatives including one to my mother. The greatest joy in the world comes from giving away, I love to give things away especially things that taste good to eat like tree ripened peaches is I think the greatest taste in all of  the world that comes from the tree of life Revelation Chapter 22. Thank you Lord for the fruit of the vine. Let us eat it in peace. Land has tripled in price and they are building on every inch of space those cheap paper homes out of clapboard made of wood shavings glued together. If it gets wet it will surely fall through. With 100 degrees in places even in Philadelphia Pa. Brown outs in Washington D.C. and dust storms in Phoenix, the end is near surely. An awful storm came from the East today with a vengeance and rain was heavy. Sudden rains are dropping deep waters all around town. A story read to me by Frank he found in a book "There are 500,000 artists in America and if they paint one picture per year each for a generation, only one picture out of 15 million will on average be selected by a museum or will be printed in a textbook". While all this sounds strange, it may be true. I am very happy to have work in museums. This is God's work, not my work. The subject matter it is of makes me very proud, it is the true Christian message of God I see no way they can be sure who is speeding with 6 lanes. A drive out I-85 by a herd of sheriff patrol cars, 7 to be exact with 6 cars stopped for a $400.00 speeding ticket. One car, 8 was sitting in the entrance to the old weight station with his radar. The blue lights are more of a racket than the fireworks on this non-independence day. Its bottom line profit for the Sheriff who wants very much to rule the jail where killings are common by the guards, this is a police state and we are not protected from abuse. People must go to court and request a full trial by jury. Merv Griffith was on with Larry King tonight talking about all his successes and said that money was a pain in the bank. Money is a pain in the bank or pocket and I have been saying this all along. Money will soon be thrown out into the streets as waste paper. May God give us grace to stand for truth and right. The devils do rage and the false church dances a tune. False prophets do come. In Matthew 24 Jesus said "many shall come in my name". Believe not in them. There is one God alone. Trust in Him! Believe on Him and be saved. "He that endures to the end, the same shall be saved "Lord, I believe, I put my trust in Thee, I praise you in all things. Poor will be poor always until they wise up and live in a way pleasing to God. Take the rings out of all ears, noses and tongues. Be clean and holy before the Lord and he will heal you and save your soul. God will put a right spirit within you and give you peace and joy unspeakable and full of glory opening today in New York. Wood-stock represents a certain threat to America by the powers of the naked hippie modern rage of rebellion. Woodstock represents drugs in our society and a fallen nation covering many generations. The untaught lost society of off spring resulting from a lost church operating outside of the commandments of God. What do we have to offer in a future? People have lost their way and missed the day. It is hot and I do mean hot here now, 98 degrees and dry. I cannot paint except very early in the morning. I am working on 2 faces I have agreed to paint and this is a new field for me. Writing here is cooler and I cannot stop. I feel the Spirit of God in my heart and my soul cries out daily to God. "Even so come now Lord Jesus"
